Will Evans Named Head Wrestling Coach

Read +Close −

Edmond Memorial has named Will Evans head wrestling coach, bringing three decades of Oklahoma wrestling and a track record of rebuilding programs to a Bulldog room with forty-four state champions in its history.

Evans arrives from Westmoore, where he spent eight seasons and turned the program around from the ground up. The clearest measure of that work isn't a bracket — it's the room. His first parent meeting at Westmoore drew six people, players and parents combined. His last drew two hundred, junior high through high school, boys and girls. In 2023 the Oklahoma chapter of the National Wrestling Coaches Association named him Class 6A Head Coach of the Year.

The results followed the participation. Westmoore went into the 2024–25 season returning nine state qualifiers and two state placers, and put multiple wrestlers on Fargo National Teams, including All-American Trae Rios.

Evans began his career in 1995 as a teacher and wrestling coach at Sapulpa, then spent nine years at Bristow — another program he rebuilt — before taking over at Westmoore. He returned to Sapulpa as head coach in 2025 before coming to Edmond.

He inherits a program with deep history and a full room, and a schedule that opens at home with the Pre-Turkey Open on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving.

“We're not just building wrestlers here — we're building young men who work hard, show up for each other, and finish what they start, on the mat and off it.”

— Coach Will Evans

Hello Bulldog Families,

Welcome to the 2026–2027 school year! We are incredibly excited to welcome our students, families, and staff back to Edmond Memorial High School for another amazing year. As we begin this new chapter together, our focus remains the same: Believe. Belong. Sacrifice to Build a Legacy. We believe in the potential of every student, we work to ensure everyone feels they belong in our Bulldog family, and we encourage one another to make the sacrifices necessary to leave a lasting legacy. We cannot wait to see our hallways filled with energy once again and look forward to making this school year one of our very best.

Senior Sunrise — August 12

Calling all seniors! Join us on Wednesday, August 12, at 6:30 a.m. in the football stadium for our annual Senior Sunrise. This special tradition marks the beginning of your final year at Edmond Memorial as we gather together to watch the sun rise on your senior year. We hope every member of the Class of 2027 will join us as we kick off a year full of memories.

Howdy Week Is Almost Here

The first full week of school means it’s time for one of Memorial’s favorite traditions, Howdy Week! Students can look forward to dress-up days all week long, and information about our evening activities will be shared very soon. Howdy Week is always a fantastic opportunity to reconnect with friends, welcome new Bulldogs, and celebrate the excitement of a new school year.

Athletic Season Passes & Cashless Events

Athletic season is right around the corner! This year we are introducing a new online ticketing system, so please take a few moments to review the information below regarding season passes and purchasing tickets. As a reminder, we are working toward cashless athletic events throughout the school year, so becoming familiar with the new system now will make attending games even easier.

Many of our student organizations will also be set up selling Bulldog merchandise, making it a great time to support our students while picking up your favorite Memorial gear.

We are so excited to begin another incredible year together and cannot wait to welcome our Bulldogs back on Thursday, August 13, for the first day of school. Here’s to a fantastic 2026–2027 school year!
